Methodology · v0.1
Evidence first. Assumptions visible. Limits intact.
Dromum builds practical software decision tools from current evidence. The method is versioned because prices, products and the quality of available evidence change.
Evidence is typed, not blended
A number is useful only when its role is clear. Dromum separates what was observed from what was calculated or assumed.
- Observed fact
- A dated statement or value captured from an identified source, with locale and context when relevant.
- Derived metric
- A reproducible calculation based on observed facts and explicit assumptions.
- Assumption
- A chosen input needed to run a scenario. It is labeled and can be changed or challenged.
- Exclusion
- A cost, feature or condition deliberately outside the model, stated so the estimate is not mistaken for a complete quote.
- Unknown
- A material point we could not verify. Unknowns stay visible instead of being filled with invented certainty.
Conflicting sources remain separate
When official surfaces disagree, we preserve the conflict, record which source controls the model and explain why. We do not average incompatible prices or quietly choose the more convenient value.
Calculations should be reproducible
A Dromum model exposes the relevant inputs, time period and calculation logic. Scenarios are estimates—not merchant quotes—and should produce the same result from the same versioned inputs.
Freshness is part of the evidence
Price and product evidence is dated. A tool states when its controlling evidence was captured and asks readers to verify the live offer before purchasing. Material updates require a new evidence or content version rather than an invisible rewrite.
Current independence state
Dromum is not currently using an affiliate link in its public FreshBooks tool. Its outbound link is observational. If a commercial relationship is introduced later, the relevant asset and disclosure will need to be updated explicitly.
What this method cannot guarantee
- Merchant pages, eligibility rules and offers can change after capture.
- A model may exclude taxes, transaction fees, add-ons or negotiated pricing.
- Public evidence may not expose checkout-specific or account-specific terms.
- Dromum tools support a decision; they do not replace the merchant's current contract or checkout terms.
